It has been a little over a year since we installed our draft beer system. Space constraints allowed us to only support 8 taps. Safe to say we have made the most of it. The premise of our draft program was that besides Peroni (we ARE an Italian restaurant) that we would carry none of the big boys on draft. It would be exclusive to Craft Beers. We also made the decision to choose our crafts based on the Brewers Association (https://www.brewersassociation.org/) definitions which states;
-Annual production of less than 6 million barrels (that’s still a lot of beer!)
– Less than 25% may be owned by a “Big Boy” (Bud, Coors, Miller, etc.)
– Must be traditional in ingredients (water, hops, malt, yeast), though some adjuncts now qualify.
After a few rotations of some popular craft brews from around the nation, we made our final 2 adjustments. We added a rotating selection of can and bottled crafts and we are 100% focused on the craft beers of Florida. So in addition to great brews from Fort Myers Brewing (https://www.facebook.com/FMBrew ) and Point Ybel Brewery (http://www.pointybelbrew.com/), you will also see beers from Tampa, Sarasota and other venues from around the state. The success of our “small” draft program has allowed us to be the recipient of some “Special and Limited” brews. Check our website often to see what’s on tap from the great state of Florida.
